Cash today, defined obligation later

Under the hood

Four positions. One intended fixed value at expiration.

A box spread combines a call and put at each of two strike prices. Their directional exposures are designed to offset at expiration. Selling the structure can create cash proceeds today and a known contractual amount due later.

Actual implementation depends on European-style product rules, execution, clearing, collateral, margin, current market prices, custodian or FCM treatment, and professional review.
